When you want to detoxify your body during the winter, there are natural ways to do it. With body detoxification, you can improve your physical and mental wellness. Detox helps you think clearer, feel better, and have more stamina and emotional energy. Detoxifying your body can also help you maintain your weight loss and cleanse your body of unhealthy habits and urges. Here are some ways to detoxify your body naturally that you can utilize in these cold winter months.

Drinking Vegetable and Fruit Juices

You can make your own fruit and vegetable juices to drink for several days to detoxify your body. There are numerous juicing recipes online or in cookbooks that you can use after buying the fresh produce that is available at a local supermarket. You can use dark leafy greens with citrus fruits or nutritious vegetables that will keep you healthy while also helping to eliminate the dangerous toxins inside your body. Remember that fresher is always better, but canned and frozen vegetables and fruits will still be better than sugar-filled processed fruit juices and drinks. The closer a food is to its natural state, the less processed and difficult to break down and digest it will be.

Enjoy Sauna Treatments to Detoxify Your Body

If you sit in a hot sauna at a spa, then you will perspire profusely, helping to detoxify your body. Winter is the perfect time for sauna treatments to warm your body when it is cold outside. With repetitive sauna treatments throughout the wintertime, you can eliminate the toxins in your body that can make you feel lethargic. Sauna treatments can also help you deal with holiday and winter-related stress, especially as the lack of sunlight often makes people depressed and angry. Sweat out the stress, if you can.

Take Natural Dietary Supplements

It can be hard to determine what dietary supplements actually work, but in general, the more specific, the better. Look for natural organic sulfur crystals that can eliminate the toxins from your body throughout the winter, helping to keep your fingernails, hair, skin, muscles and joints healthier. Sulfur can help with the prevention of joint pain that may occur from colder weather conditions. The reduction in your body’s inflammation can also help you to avoid having a cold or influenza. Other helpful natural supplements include infusions of Vitamin D and iron to help combat sunlight and iron deficiency.

Reduce Your Stress with Meditative Practices

During the winter, you may not go outside to exercise as much, but you can still reduce your stress with meditative practices. Find a book or a DVD that will teach you how to meditate at home. You can sit quietly while saying a mantra or looking at a focus object, helping you to clear the troubling thoughts from your mind. You can meditate several times a day to eliminate your anxiety. This will help your body detoxify and de-stress, which helps you put off weight. Often, stress makes your body retain weight and water as a self-defense mechanism.

Increasing Your Daily Water Consumption

By increasing your daily water consumption, you can remove the toxins in your body throughout the winter. You can squeeze fresh lemon juice into the water to help with the removal of the dangerous toxins that remain in your body when the weather is colder. Hydration is especially important in the winter, as people often forget to drink when it’s not cold out. Drinking water helps reinforce your immune system and also satisfies you so you snack less. Often, stress and hunger can be mediated by healthily drinking at least 7 or 8 glasses of water a day. Try keeping a water bottle with you so you can drink from it regularly.

Last, you can detoxify your body in the winter along with increasing your blood circulation by using a dry skin brush each day. Dry brushes can exfoliate and re-invigorate you. These and other helpful products can help rid you of unnecessary toxins so you can live your naturally healthy life. Be sure to consume more healthy vegetables and fruits, visit saunas, take dietary supplements, meditate to de-stress, and drink plenty of water. By following these simple steps, you will be sure to naturally and gradually remove harmful toxins from your body, enabling you to lose weight and feel better about your body.
