Choosing the best CBD oil is becoming much harder with the rising increase in demand. This has seen many manufacturers cut corners to get their product to market. According to a 2017 study published in the Journal of American Medical Association, only 30% of the CBD oils and products had the correct amount.

70% of the rest either had higher quantities of CBD, others had less or none at all. For this reason, you must know how to pick the CBD oil and that which works best with your dry herb vaporizer.

Establish a Buying Criteria

Due to the rampant growth of CBD-infused products, you will need to establish buying criteria. Whether you are getting the sublingual CBD oil, topical CBD oil, or vape CBD oil, the criteria help you compare and contrast the options on the market.

You should consider the following factors:

1. Where Is the Hemp Grown

The quality of the CBD oil will vary depending on the geographical location where the hemp plant is grown. Reputable manufacturers will provide the location of their farms on the label or their website. The hemp plant is a bio-accumulator, and it will absorb elements in their environment.

Moreover, the potency of the CBD oil will be influenced by the nutrients in the soil. There are many places in the US where they grow hemp plants. Given the stringent environmental regulations, you are sure to find high quality and potent CBD oil from the US. Also read: What’s the difference between CBD Oil and Hemp oil.

2. Taste

Taste or pallet refers to the flavor of the CBD oil. Most CBD oils have an earthly and grassy after taste, and flavorings are added to make it more palatable. You will find a wide range of flavors ranging from mango to chocolate, peach, orange, and more.

3. THC Levels

Since the CBD oil sector lacks a regulatory framework, you are sure to find some brands that add THC in their CBD oil. This is meant to boost the oil’s therapeutic benefits. Ideally, CBD oil should have less than 0.3% THC. Any more than this amount will lead to psychoactive effects, which can be too much for some users to bear.

To be safe, ensure that you are going for CBD oils with a very low THC level or those that do not have any THC. However, some manufacturers omit the level of THC in the CBD oil, and this could lead you to fail a drug test.

4. Extraction Methods

The extraction process used in obtaining the CBD oil will affect the quality and potency of the oil. Currently, CO2 extraction is by far the best method. It involves combining the CO2 with the plant under high pressure. There are also other methods, but they do not produce high-quality oil.

You should also consider the CBD oil extracted and tested in accredited laboratories. The manufacturer is obligated to provide a written guarantee to this effect. The CBD oil should be free of any bacteria, heavy metals, pesticides, or any other toxins.

5. Concentration

This is arguably the most important aspect to consider. Most of the brands will indicate the CBD concentration levels, and it should be between 250 and slightly above 1000mg. The concentration you choose ought to be sufficient for your condition.

For example, if you suffer from chronic pain induced by rheumatoid arthritis, a high concentration is better. For sleep problems, anywhere between 250 and 500 mg will be enough for you. The bottom line is that the concentration level will determine the amount of relief you get from the oil.

6. Full Spectrum or Isolate

CBD oil is available in two varieties; full-spectrum and isolate. Several studies show that the full spectrum variety offers more benefits compared to the isolate. Full-spectrum CBD oil has a variety of active ingredients, while the isolate has one compound.

However, there is a higher risk of developing adverse side effects with the full-spectrum, although rare. CBD oil isolate is recommended for beginners. They can then move on to the full spectrum if they do not experience any changes.

7. Price

Beginners tend to go for the low-priced CBD oils. While it is normal to test out the cheaper oils before you get used to the taste and effects, the high-priced oils tend to be better and more effective. The price is dependent on the variety, concentration, among other factors.

8. Consumption Patterns

CBD oils come in a variety of forms, including capsules, vape oil, and edibles. Capsules are easier to ingest over vape oils. Vape oils, on the other hand, have faster efficacy compared to the capsules. Knowing what works for you is a crucial aspect when buying CBD oil as well as usage habits.

Conclusion

Purchasing CBD oil is not an easy task as picking one from the shelf or online and using it. Consider the factors above to choose the best CBD oil for you. Remember, you should consult your doctor before starting on CBD oil therapy to ensure that you have the right dosage and free of any allergies.
