Ice Coffee and Cold Brewed coffee Difference

Coffee lovers, are you sure that you know everything that’s there to learn about this delicious drink? First of all, coffee is such a great drink, right?

It can be prepared in a matter of seconds, it can boost your energy level in a matter of seconds, and it’s always a great invitation for a chat with a friend. The only downside of coffee is that you do eventually get to see the bottom of that favorite coffee cup. So, to avoid that miserable feeling of losing your favorite drink, you should think about mixing your coffee flavors a bit.

Are you familiar with iced coffee and how it can be refreshing on hot summer days? If not, you don’t know what you are missing.

Be aware:

There is a difference between a cold brew and iced coffee. All cold drinks are well… cold! However, they are not all created equal.

Just because they are refreshing and provide that needed boost, doesn’t mean the brewing process is the same. So, let’s break down the basics and see what you should grab next: cold brew or iced coffee.

What are the Differences Between Cold Brew and Iced Coffee

Many see iced coffee as an ultimate summertime drink. After all, it’s cold, delicious, and refreshing. Plus, it provides much-needed energy for all-day outdoor activities.

When you hit that summer bar you are usually presented with two options: cold brew vs. iced coffee. It’s obvious that they are both cold, both come with a bunch of ice, and both have a coffee taste so what’s the difference? To truly understand the difference between cold brew and iced coffee it’s imperative to understand how they are made, what they are, which has more caffeine, and what are the brewing methods.

These are the basics that will help you make a better decision, and make that cup of coffee just perfect.

Cold Brew Coffee Basics

To get cold brew coffee, coarse-ground coffee is placed in cold water for twelve hours to get that strong flavor. The longer coffee sits, the stronger the flavor – as simple as that. This is the main reason why it’s served with ice.

Cold brew coffee is less acidic and bitter opposite to iced coffee because it uses the time to enhance the flavor.

If you like stronger coffee flavors, you should know that this type of coffee could easily be made at home, if you have a French press. Plus, making iced brewed coffee at home can save you money.

Iced Coffee Basics

Iced coffee is regularly brewed coffee served over ice. Making this coffee is fast and simple. However, little is known that this method actually dilutes the coffee.

Prevent the ice from watering your cold drink, by doubling the amount of ground coffee you put in your coffee.

Another hack is to try making ice cubes. How? Just pour cooled coffee into an ice cube tray and freeze.

Which coffee has more caffeine? Most cold brew coffee has more caffeine, so maybe you should go for iced coffee if you want to sleep more soundly.
