The main argument that chocolate is bad for us is that it can be high in sugar and saturated fat. Both sugar and fat are famous for not being very good for our overall health since they are highly calorical compounds.

You should try to enjoy dark chocolate as an occasional treat, with a portion size of about 20g (which is equivalent to around six small pieces).

It’s also best to avoid flavoured chocolate, as these can contain even more sugar and fat – so try to go for the darkest chocolate possible to maximise the health benefits.

If you’re looking to enjoy dark chocolate guilt-free, we think you should try Italian chocolate. Italian chocolatiers are known for making high-quality chocolate that isn’t overly processed and too packed with sugar and fat.

Although all of their chocolate is known for being delicious, it’s their dark chocolate, in particular, that’s considered the best for your health.

Dark chocolate is naturally packed full of ingredients that have some seriously positive health benefits.

This is because it uses a high percentage of seeds from the cacao tree, which is known for being excellent antioxidants.

In many studies into the benefits of dark chocolate, it’s been found that this food can boost our psychological health, promote blood circulation and give us the energy boost we need to feel great throughout the day.

Some studies have even likened dark chocolate to ‘super fruits’ because they are full of phytonutrients which are commonly found in things like blueberries and pomegranates – which are extremely good for you.

The darker the Italian chocolate is, the better it’s going to be for you. This is because there’s less sugar and fewer added ingredients that can be bad for your health.

So you should never have to feel guilty about enjoying this treat ever again!
