6 Golden Recipes of Golden Spice “Turmeric”

What you need?

  • 1 cup milk (any milk based on your preference)
  • Half teaspoon turmeric
  • Half teaspoon dry ginger powder
  • 1 1/2  teaspoon honey (optional)

What you do?

Add turmeric and ginger powder to milk. Bring it to boil. Strain into mug to get golden milk. Add honey when you are ready to sip.

2. Pickled Turmeric

This recipe is made from fresh turmeric bulb. It has good shelf life and can be great accompaniment for bread and sandwich.

What you need?

  • 2 cups fresh turmeric (cut into julienne)
  • 1 cup fresh ginger (cut into julienne)
  • Juice of Two lemons
  • Salt to taste

What you do?

Mix turmeric, ginger, and salt in glass jar. Add lemon juice and shake properly. Let it stand in refrigerator for a day until all ingredients are properly mixed. The pickle is ready to relish!

3. Turmeric Tea

What you need?

  • 4 cups of water
  • Half teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Quarter inch piece of ginger
  • Half inch cinnamon stick
  • Juice of one lemon

Bring water to boil along with ginger, turmeric, and cinnamon. Simmer for 10 minutes on low flame. Strain the liquid in two mugs, add lemon and honey as per taste. Sip this anti-oxidant rich drink in the morning to get best results.

4. Mango Oats Turmeric Smoothie

This sounds to be a weird combination, but it really works! Very easy to assemble and convenient to grab on the go, this smoothie has vivid flavors packed in with wholesome health.

What you need?

  • 2 Teaspoon oats (roasted)
  • 1 frozen banana
  • Half cup ripe mango diced
  • 1 Tablespoon honey
  • 1/4 Tablespoon turmeric powder
  • 2 Tablespoon Yoghurt
  • One Cup Milk
  • Half Cup Water

What you do?

Put all the ingredients in blender. Blend them well with pulse function until you get really smooth smoothie. Add some ice instead of water at the time of blending to have the chilled smoothie for summer months.

5. Citrus Turmeric Drink

This drink is the tasty blend made of citrus juice, turmeric, ginger, and mint. It’s refreshing and very easy to prepare.

What you need?

  • 3 Oranges or grapefruit
  • Half inch piece of fresh turmeric
  • Half inch piece of fresh ginger
  • 1 Tablespoon mint leaves

Wash and peel all the ingredients. Pass them through juicer to get the fresh juice. It tastes well even without any additives, but if you want then add a pinch of salt and black pepper for extra taste.

6. Turmeric Soup

  • 1/2 Teaspoon mix herbs
  • Salt to taste

What you do?

Mix oatmeal with all other ingredients. Give a stir until all lumps are dissolved. Bring it to boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Keep stirring constantly to avoid any lump formation during boiling. Top it up with fresh cilantro and enjoy sipping slowly on chilly winter evenings.
